Bulk Update WooCommerce Prices by Percentage
To raise every price in a category by 10%, filter SwiftGrid to that category, type “Raise prices 10%” into the Edit with AI box, check the preview, and apply it. To lower prices, type “Reduce prices 15%” with the percentage you want.
The AI box runs on your own API key. Without a key, you can paste recalculated prices from a spreadsheet, as described further down.
Who This Is For
You run a WooCommerce store with more than a handful of products, and one percentage has to reach many prices. You might say it like this: “Raise every price in Bags by 10%.”
Steps in SwiftGrid
- Open SwiftGrid in the WordPress admin menu.
- Choose the category in the category filter. Add a status, tag, stock status or product type filter to narrow the list further. The search box narrows it by title or SKU.
- Tick the rows you want to change. With no rows ticked, the AI box uses everything the filters show. With no filter either, it uses the whole catalog, so read the scope line at the top of the panel before you go on.
- Click Edit with AI. The first time, choose a provider and enter your API key.
- Type the change, for example “Raise prices 10%” or “Reduce sale prices 20%”, and click Preview changes. A price with no qualifier means the regular price. Say “sale prices” to change the sale price.
- Read the preview. It shows how many products change, a sample of up to 20 rows with their before and after prices, and the products it skips and why, such as a product with no price to start from.
- Click Apply to N products. SwiftGrid writes the new prices to your store straight away, each one the current price plus the percentage, rounded to 2 decimals. Click Undo to put the old prices back. Undo stays available until you close the panel.
Without an API Key
Export the current view as CSV, apply the percentage in a spreadsheet, then copy the new price column and paste it into the price column in SwiftGrid. Edited cells are highlighted and the status bar counts the unsaved edits. Press Ctrl+S or Cmd+S, or click Save Changes, to write them. Until you save, Ctrl+Z or Cmd+Z undoes up to 50 edits and Discard Changes drops all of them.
For a handful of products, the cell calculator on a price cell offers Set value, Add amount, Subtract amount, Add percent, Subtract percent and Round to nearest increment. It changes one cell at a time.
Variable Products
A variable product keeps its prices on its variations. The AI preview reports variable parents as products whose price cannot be edited. Set the product type filter to Variations to work on the variations themselves, as described in Bulk Edit WooCommerce Product Variations.
What Is Free and What Is Pro
Free The grid with filters for status, category, tag, stock status and product type, plus search. The Edit with AI box with preview and Undo, on your own key from OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Groq, OpenRouter or Grok. The cell calculator, paste from Excel or Google Sheets, and CSV export and import. No product limit.
Pro WordPress Abilities (WordPress 6.9 or later): an AI agent you connect can change the regular or sale price of every product matching a filter in one call, by amount, percentage or rounding, up to 1000 products per call. Change history and rollback record AI box and agent price changes. Scheduled edits with auto-revert handle a price change that should end on a date.
SwiftGrid Pro is not on sale yet. The signup below is how you hear when it is. See what is in Pro on the SwiftGrid page.
Compared With Native WooCommerce
WooCommerce can already change prices by a percentage. On the Products screen, tick products, choose Bulk actions > Edit, and set the regular price to Increase existing price by (fixed amount or %) or Decrease existing price by (fixed amount or %). The sale price field also offers Set to regular price decreased by (fixed amount or %).
Native bulk edit acts on the products you tick on the current page, 20 per page by default. It does not change the prices of variable or grouped products, and it shows no before and after values. SwiftGrid filters a whole category at once and previews the result, at the cost of needing an AI key for the percentage route.
Limits
- The cell calculator works on one cell at a time. SwiftGrid has no percent calculator that runs across a ticked selection, so percentage changes across many products go through the AI box or a pasted column.
- The AI box cannot apply a condition such as “where out of stock”. Set that with the filters.
- One AI command covers up to 1000 products.
