Change WooCommerce Products by Typing What You Want
To change many WooCommerce products by describing the change, open SwiftGrid, click Edit with AI, type a command such as “Set the selected products to draft”, check the preview, and apply it.
The box is free. It runs on your own API key, so the provider you choose bills you for each request.
Who This Is For
You know the change you want and would rather say it than set it cell by cell. “Add the tag clearance to these products.” “Raise prices 10%.”
Steps in SwiftGrid
- Open SwiftGrid and choose the scope. Tick rows, or set filters for status, category, tag, stock status, product type or search text. The command describes the change. The filters and ticked rows decide which products it touches.
- Click Edit with AI. The first time, choose a provider (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Groq, OpenRouter or Grok) and paste your key. SwiftGrid checks the key and stores it encrypted on your site.
- Type the command and click Preview changes. The panel also offers example commands: Set to draft, Raise prices 10%, Clear sale price and Add tag “clearance”.
- Read the preview. It shows how many products change, a sample of up to 20 rows with their before and after values, and the products it skips and why. Click Refine to reword the command.
- Click Apply to N products.
- Click Undo to revert the change. Undo stays available until you close the panel.
What It Can Change
- Status: publish or draft.
- Regular price and sale price: set a value, add or subtract an amount, add or subtract a percentage, or round to an increment. The sale price can also be cleared.
- Stock quantity: set a value, add an amount or subtract an amount.
- Stock status: in stock, out of stock or on backorder.
- Categories and tags: add terms, remove terms or set the list. The terms must already exist, because SwiftGrid never creates them.
It cannot change titles, SKUs, descriptions, images or attributes. One command holds up to 5 operations and covers up to 1000 products. Past 1000 products, SwiftGrid asks you to narrow the selection. By default each user can send 10 AI requests in 5 minutes.
If you type a condition such as “where out of stock”, the box replies that it cannot map the command and suggests adjusting the filters or selection. Set the scope with the grid, then describe the change.
What Leaves Your Site
SwiftGrid sends the provider what you typed and a short summary of the scope: how many products, the filters you set, and the text in the search box. It never attaches your product rows. Nothing is sent until you connect a key.
What Is Free and What Is Pro
Free The Edit with AI box with preview, apply and Undo, on your own key from any of the six providers, for the fields listed above. No product limit on the grid itself.
Pro WordPress Abilities (WordPress 6.9 or later) for your own AI agent. SwiftGrid registers three: list products, save product rows and bulk update product prices. An agent you connect calls them, and every edit runs on your server through the grid’s own validation and save path. A bulk price update covers up to 1000 products per call. SwiftGrid does not include an agent.
Pro Agent edits wait for a store manager’s approval by default, and you can switch the same gate on for AI box commands under SwiftGrid > Access. An unanswered request expires after 7 days. Change history records AI box commands and agent bulk edits and can roll them back.
SwiftGrid Pro is not on sale yet. The signup below is how you hear when it is. See what is in Pro on the SwiftGrid page.
Compared With Native WooCommerce
WooCommerce has no plain-language editing. Its bulk edit on the Products screen (Bulk actions > Edit) has fixed fields for price, sale price, tax, weight, dimensions, shipping class, visibility, stock and status, applied to the products you tick on the current page.
A typed command states the same change in one line, with a preview before anything is written. It depends on an outside provider, it costs whatever that provider charges, and it reaches 7 fields. For other fields, edit in the grid or use the native screen.
